Semscraper in
The Semscraper MCP server lets your AI assistant collect real Google and Google Maps SERPs, then turn them into the analysis you ask for, in plain language.
- Remote MCP server
- Nothing to install
- 8 tools
- 1000 free requests
- No credit card
You ask,
The assistant picks the right tools, runs the searches, waits for the results and answers you. A few examples:
“Get the AI Overviews of these 20 keywords and rank the most cited domains.”
“Compare the top 10 for ‘plumber’ in Austin and in Denver, on mobile.”
“List the top 20 Google Maps listings for ‘restaurant’ in Boston, with their rating and review count.”
Eight tools,
Every tool is available with your API key. Only the two search tools use credit, at the usual API price; the other six use none.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
google_search | Google SERP of one or more keywords: every block, AI Overviews included, with rank, page and pixel position. Parameters and blocks are detailed on the Google Search API page. |
google_maps | Google Maps listings of a search, from a city or a GPS position. |
get_serp_results | Results of searches already started, by ID. Uses no credit. |
list_searches | Search history of the account, most recent first: to find IDs, including after a dropped connection, without paying twice. Uses no credit. |
ai_overview_sources | Domains cited in the AI Overviews of a batch of searches, computed by the server, with the keywords concerned. Uses no credit. |
get_balance | Account balance. Uses no credit. |
list_google_versions | Available Google versions and languages. Uses no credit. |
get_queue_status | Pending, running and finished searches. Uses no credit. |
Setup,
Your key is in the API keys menu of your Semscraper account. Replace API_KEY with that key.
In your terminal, run the following command, then open a new Claude Code session:
claude mcp add --transport http semscraper https://mcp.semscraper.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer API_KEY"
In Settings > Connectors, click “Add custom connector”, name it Semscraper and paste the address below. The connector works on claude.ai, in Claude Desktop and on mobile. Custom connectors depend on your Claude plan: on Team or Enterprise, an organization admin adds them.
https://mcp.semscraper.com/mcp?key=API_KEY
On Claude and ChatGPT, the key goes in the address: for now it is the only method these platforms accept. Keep this address to yourself, like a password, and preferably use a key dedicated to MCP.
In ChatGPT settings, turn on developer mode, then create a connector with the address below. Connector availability depends on your ChatGPT plan.

Add this block to the ~/.cursor/mcp.json file (or in Cursor Settings > MCP), then restart Cursor:

"mcpServers": {
"semscraper": {
"url": "https://mcp.semscraper.com/mcp",
"headers": {
"Authorization": "Bearer API_KEY"

}
}
}
To test it, just ask: “What is my Semscraper balance?”
Your assistant isn't listed? Any MCP-compatible client works, preferably with the Authorization: Bearer header, otherwise with the address containing the key.
Small searches or
Every Google page is loaded in a real browser with a graphical interface: that is what captures AI Overviews and their sources, dynamic elements and the pixel position of every result. A queue spreads searches across our machines, which keeps our prices among the lowest on the market. Expect a median of about thirty seconds per search. By default, the tool waits for the results; for a large batch, the assistant starts the searches without waiting and fetches the results later, without paying twice.
Direct results
For a few keywords, the tool waits for the collection to finish and returns the results in the same answer.
Large volumes
The tool starts the searches and hands back right away. The assistant fetches the results afterwards, without paying twice.
Compact answers
Filter by block and number of results per block: the assistant only reads what it needs, which saves tokens.
Pay
The same price as the API, with no subscription: each SERP fetched is deducted from your balance.
1% to 10% off depending on the amount topped up. Your balance never expires.
