In short
- Pick SerpApi if you need many engines (Bing, YouTube, Amazon, Google Scholar…) or specialized APIs such as full-text Google Maps reviews.
- Pick Semscraper if your need is Google Search and Google Maps, at high volume, with real pagination, pixel position and AI Overviews, at the best price and with no subscription.
Price
SerpApi works on a monthly subscription with a number of searches included: a free plan with 250 searches, then plans at $25, $75, $150 and $275 per month, and custom pricing. Semscraper works on credit: you top up the amount of your choice, each SERP is deducted, and your balance never expires.
Since Google stopped showing 100 results per page, each results page counts as one search. Here is the cost per 1,000 keywords by depth, based on our reading of the public price lists:
| Depth | Semscraper | SerpApi |
|---|---|---|
| 1 page (top 10) | €0.30 | $15 |
| 3 pages (top 30) | €0.70 | $45 |
| 5 pages (top 50) | €1.10 | $75 |
| 10 pages (top 100) | €2.10 | $150 |
Our assumptions, based on the public price lists read on October 8, 2026:
- SerpApi: Developer plan, $75 for 5,000 searches, so $15 per 1,000. Higher plans lower that price, down to $9.17 per 1,000 with the $275 plan for 30,000 searches.
- Semscraper: base price, before top-up discounts (from 1% at €100 to 10% at €10,000).
- Each service is shown in its own currency, with no conversion.
- Every results page is billed, at SerpApi as at Semscraper.

Where SerpApi does better
The catalogue: if your product needs to query several engines, SerpApi covers far more ground. Its documentation is very thorough, with a page per engine and per result type, and a playground to test. Its legal guarantees and certifications reassure large accounts.
Where Semscraper does better
Cost at high volume on Google, first, by a wide margin according to the public price lists. Then position data: every result carries its rank within its block, its rank on the page, its real page and its pixel position, at no extra cost. Finally AI Overviews: every SERP is rendered in a real browser that waits for the ones loading late, nearly one in two according to our study of one million keywords. They come in the same response, with no second call and no extra charge.
Migrating from SerpApi
The concepts map one to one: a keyword, a location, a language, a device, a depth. On the Semscraper side, you send batches via POST, then fetch by ID or receive a callback. The 1,000 free requests let you compare results on your own keywords before switching. The parameter list is on the Google Search API page.
